Administration & Town Office

The Administrator and Town Office perform a wide variety services for the residents and visitors of Pownal which include: 

    • Registering of Motor Vehicles, ATVs, Snowmobiles, and Boats
    • Issuing Hunting and Fishing Licenses
    • Issuing of Dog Licenses
    • Issuing of Marriage Licenses
    • Collection of Property and Personal Taxes
    • Administration of Elections, Voter Registration and Maintenance of the Voting List
    • Maintenance of all vital records of the town including births, deaths and marriages
    • Custodian for all Official Town Records including codes, ordinances and meeting minutes
    • Input and maintain records management system for storage and retrieval of Town records
    • Administration of the Records Retention Center, including records destruction
    • Supplying citizens with copies of public records and ordinances
    • Providing Notary Services
