Employment Opportunity - Deputy Clerk

The Town of Pownal is seeking a full-time Deputy Clerk.  This position also serves as a Deputy Treasurer, Deputy Tax Collector, Deputy General Assistance Administrator and Deputy Registrar of Voters and supports the Town Administrator.  Duties will include motor vehicle registration, vital records, collection of property taxes, issuing recreational vehicle license, hunting and fishing licenses, maintaining town records and election coordination.  The ideal candidate will have strong computer and customer service skills and knowledge of applicable laws, statute, policies and ordinances.  Prior municipal experience and experience with TRIO software is a plus.

The position is a full-time position with a 4-day work week (38 hours) with Fridays off and 13 paid State holidays.  The Town offers a competitive benefits package to include 100% paid health insurance for single plan, 6% employer contribution to 457B retirement plan and elective dental, vision short and long-term disability and life insurance plans through Maine Municipal Employees Health Trust.  The Town will provide and pay for all necessary certifications, memberships and trainings.
