Pownal's Pride Metal Day is scheduled for May 18th from 7:00AM - 3:30PM at the Pownal Town Garage 429 Hallowell Rd.

METAL CLEAN UP DAY 2019:

 

Pownal’s Pride Clean Up Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 18 from 7:00AM – 3:30PM

Containers will be available at the Public Works Facility at 429 Hallowell Rd for disposal of most metal goods.

Acceptable Materials

  • Household metal goods
  • Washing Machines
  • Clothes dryers
  • Culverts
  • Metal Piping
  • EMPTY paint cans
  • Bicycles
  • Lawnmowers

Refrigerators and Freezers are acceptable but must be dropped in a separate location from the regular metal.

Unacceptable Materials

  • Trash
  • Demolition debris
  • Car batteries
  • Chemicals, Oil, Gasoline, Antifreeze
  • Propane Tanks
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Full or partially full paint cans
  • Chain link fencing

 

Items must not be primarily plastic or wood, they MUST be primarily metal.

In conjunction with Metal Clean Up, Pownal asks for volunteers to do some ROAD SIDE CLEAN UP.

If you are out for a walk and notice trash and other items discarded on the side of the road. Pick it up! Clear trash bags will be available at the Town Office if you would like to “patrol” your road and pick up these items. You may then leave the clear bags with your household trash on Friday mornings for the weeks of May 12th – May 19th to be picked up.
