Ordinance Review Committee Charge

 The Ordinance Review Committee will:

-        Review and make suggestions as appropriate on current and new ordinances at the request of the Select Board and/or Planning Board.

  • This may or may not involve work with:
  • Outside consultants
  • Town personnel
  • Other town committees

-        The Committee may be asked, on an occasional basis, to draft ordinances at the request of the Select Board and/or Planning Board. 

The Chairperson shall call meetings of the committee on an as-needed basis.  A quorum of members is required to conduct an official meeting and shall consist of two-thirds (2/3) of the membership.  Agendas and minutes of each meeting will be submitted to the Town Clerk in a timely manner. 

When there is a permanent vacancy on the committee the Select Board will, as soon as possible, appoint a person to serve for a one year term.  The Select Board will advise the Chair of potential candidates before appointing new members.
